actually, the art was relatively meaningless (generic anime girl with floaty material and jewelry?) painted on karmic using gimp 2.6.7 with gimp-painter.

Beautiful .extrange colors but i like it. it is underwater? it will be great with caustics on her face and more bluish tones imho

I looked up gimp-painter, does it improve gimp all that much?

Gimp-painter adds 2 new tools (mixbrush and G-pen) and upgrades the main paint tool. The mixbrush is nice but the paint tool is more useful to me, and the G-pen is only really useful for handwriting/calligraphy. What won me over is the fact that it lets you take full control of pressure-related brush size in the paint tool (and eraser I think). Otherwise, the default minimum brush size (about 50%) gives my brushstrokes a distinctive "gimp look." :P

you can get the .diff file from [link] - you'll also need the gimp source, which you can get from the main gimp website if you don't have it already. just bear in mind that the latest patch is I think for 2.6.7. have fun! :)
